How To Care For Your Garments

General Tips to care for your garment

Storage

Check to see if the care label has any special hanging tips. In general, we recommend hanging dresses, blazers and delicate garments that won’t stretch over time. Storing jersey and knitted garments by folding them will help to avoid hanger marks and the garment from growing and stretching over time.

Drying

Try to avoid machine drying garments where possible as this will wear on the garment over a long period of time.

Wearing

It’s important that you wear your piece with love and take good care. Take note of the fabrication your garment is made from, knitwear and satin styles may pull a lot easier when sitting on anything with a slightly rough and uneven surface. Bags and jewellery may rub on delicate fabrics over time and create pilling and abrasion to the fabric, it’s best to take note when selecting your accessories that they won’t get hooked and pull threads in the garment. Some denim styles tend to bleed and can stain lighter colour garments, especially when wet.

Washing

Cotton can be machine washed on a gentle cycle or hand washed. It is best to avoid fabric softeners as this can dull the colour of your garment over time.

Water Temp

Cotton garments are best washed in cold or warm water to prevent shrinkage and fading. Take extra care when washing in hot water as this can cause it to shrink.

Drying

Cotton fabric can either be air dried or machine dried on a low heat cycle. High heat can cause fibres to shrink.

Ironing

Cotton is very prone to creasing so it is often necessary to iron you garment to regain the original shape and size. Iron the garment on a mid to low temperature using steam only when required.

General

Always follow the care label instructions on your garment as a mix of fibre contents may need additional care to the above.

Washing

Most polyester fabrics are machine washable on a cold delicate setting but always be sure to check the care label first.

Water Temp

Polyester is best to be washed on a cold delicate or warm setting.

Drying

Polyester can be tumble dried on a cool setting or low heat. Remove from dryer while slightly damp and line dry in shade to avoid any wrinkles or static build up.

Ironing

Polyester garments usually will not shrink due to the nature of their fibres. If washed and dried on high heat, it can cause the garment to shrink slightly. Warm steam iron inside out to regain original shape and size.

General

Always follow the care label instructions on your garment as a mix of fibre contents may need additional care to the above.

Washing

PU fabric is not able to be machine washed. Please only hand wipe with damp cloth or hand wash if needed.

Drying

PU fabric is not able to be tumble dried at all as it can cause the fabric to melt. Please only line dry in shade.

Ironing

PU fabric is not able to be ironed.

General

Always follow the care label instructions on your garment as a mix of fibre contents may need additional care to the above.

Washing

Cold hand wash knitted garments inside out.

Wearing

Knit or crochet garments are more prone to pulls or snags. Please be mindful when wearing jewellery with knitwear.

Drying/Ironing

Do not tumble dry knitwear, please lay garment flat in shade to dry. Warm iron inside out if needed.

Storing

We recommend storing knitted garments folded to avoid coat hanger marks and the garment stretching over time.

General

Always follow the care label instructions on your garment as a mix of fibre contents may need additional care to the above.

Washing

Wash denim separately first before use. Wash denim turned inside out on a cold cycle. Wash with like colours only.

Water Temp

Water temp when washing denim is important, wash on a cold setting to maintain the colour fastness of the garment.

Drying

Line dry in shade only. Please do not tumble dry.

Ironing

Warm iron denim inside out to rid garment of creases.

General

Always follow the care label instructions on your garment as a mix of fibre contents may need additional care to the above.
